The Look: "I wanted to accentuate the eye in a very spontaneous way, giving the impression of a young girls who had applied her own makeup," says makeup artist Peter Philips. The Look: What looks like your average cat-eye was actually applied with...the bendy crook of a straw. "I wanted a graphic, sharp, edgy liner to create the optical illusion of movement," said makeup artist Karim Rahman, who mixed up a thick black paste with acrylic paint to achieve the effect.

The Look: The natural color in the lips was blotted out with foundation, then a hot, matte pink was applied in symmetrical almost heart-like blots, leaving a slim silhouette down the center.

The Look: Makeup artist Lynsey Alexaner gave each model, "blocks of stamped-on, colored eyes in graphic shapes" for a '90s cool-girl feel. Custom-blended acrylic paints were painted in a dome just above the socket, then winged out and down, and set with translucent powder.
