We give you our recommendations for which products should be used by those with oily skin.
The first step is to pay close attention to the labels and what ingredients are used in your products, and make sure everything you use is gentle and oil-free.
These treatments for oily skin are great for absorbing excess oil, and are simple and inexpensive if you want to avoid over-the-counter products.
Cornstarch - Mix enough cornstarch with warm water to make a paste, then rub the mixture on your face. After it dries, rinse off with warm water.
Egg yolk - Apply egg to your face using a cotton ball. Leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse with cool water.
Lime juice - Dab lime juice onto oily areas of your face, waits until dry, then rinse off with warm water.
Cleansers
Look for ingredients such as salicylic acid and sulfur, which helps to soak up oil and clean pores. Use these cleansers in combination with your favorite LUNA, which helps to clear pores of oils and improves the absorption of your favorite skincare products.
We recommend:
Neutrogena Rapid Clear Oil-Eliminating Foaming Cleanser
Biotique Pineapple Fruit Gel
Murad Clarifying Cleanser
Toners and Astringents
After you’re finished cleansing, try a toner or astringent formulated for excess oil production. Look for toners and astringents that are mild and contain either or both glycolic acid and salicylic acid.
You need to moisturize your skin to combat the drying effects of all the oil-destroying skincare products you’ve been using. Use lightweight, oil-free and non-comedogenic products.
We recommend:
Matis Oil Control Gel Cream
Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Moisturizer
Dermalogica Active Moist
Exfoliators
When doing your weekly exfoliating session, look for a scrub that contains beta hydroxy acid, which will gently unclog pores without causing irritation.
