Faking eight hours of sleep is no easy feat, but BAZAAR's Senior Beauty editor Jenna Rosenstein is making it her mission to find the concealer that fully disguises stubborn dark circles.

In this episode of Face Off, the beauty guru tests two of the buzziest concealers on the market—the coveted Shape Tape concealer by Tarte against the Kylie Cosmetics skin concealer—to see which formula best masks dark under-eye shadows.

In terms of price-point, the two formulas are strikingly similar, with the Kylie Cosmetics concealer ringing in at $20, and the Tarte Shape Tape priced at $27. Though in a side-by-side, Rosenstein notes that you may get a bit more bang for your buck in terms of product with Tarte, as it has a slightly-larger tube.

On application technique, the makeup pro notes, that more often than not—less is more. "Makeup artists always say that you don't want to get the concealer too close to the lash line," Rosenstein explains. "You really only want to put it where you need it."

Blending Kylie's sheer-coverage formula in a gentle triangular motion, the result is a lightweight coverage without a cakey finish. But does it match the Shape Tape hype?

Going in with the Tarte formula under her opposite eye, Rosenstein find the biggest difference is Shape Tape's pigmentation. "Texture-wise, this feels pretty similar to the Kylie concealer," she says. "But it's more pigmented and a bit creamier," meaning you really have to work it in with a dense makeup brush or a Beautyblender.
