When juggling busy careers and lives, it's not always easy to find the time to hit the gym or prepare a healthy meal. For inspiration, we're asking influential women in a variety of fields to share a typical day of food and fitness. Hannah Hart, the hilarious force behind the 2-million-subscribers-strong YouTube channel My Drunk Kitchen, has become an author, leading lady, and now host on a new series with Barilla called "While the Water Boils." While she may have gained popularity for her alcohol-fueled food concoctions, IRL she keeps her meals super simple.

I'm a big breakfast fan—a huge breakfast fan. I love avocados on toast, I love eggs, and I love to have oatmeal in the morning, just instant oatmeal. That's something that's super, super easy that if you travel a lot, you can take with you. Just add a cut-up banana!

Also in the morning, within the first 30 minutes of waking up, I have a warm glass of water with lemon juice. It really helps you kind of start up your system, start your metabolism, hydrate yourself, and kind of transition from the sleeping body to the wakeful body before putting any caffeine or anything like that into your system. You'd be amazed at how often we forget to drink water, you know? It also really helps to start your day off with something pure and simple and clean like water then it lowers your stress level for the remainder of the day. If you start your day off with a caffeine spike, your body's going to be expecting those peaks and valleys throughout the rest of the day.

I think lunch should be the biggest, heartiest meal of our day because you're in the middle of your day, you've been going strong, and if you tend to work throughout the rest of the day and into the night, you've got to keep that energy level going and going and going. I'm actually a big advocate of having pasta for lunch because it's something that's sustainable energy and you can burn it off [throughout the rest of the day]. I also love turkey. I'm a big believer in fast and convenient meal preparation. Turkey wraps are really simple, it's just having tortillas and fresh deli meat and a little cheese then wrapping it up, sticking it in your mouth, heading out the door.

The way I like to make my guacamole is to chop some white onions and soak it in lime for about 10 minutes before I start making it at all. This is something a friend of mine in college taught me, and she made just the most incredible guacamole every time. She said that the key was letting the onion—garlic too—absorb the lime before adding your avocado and continuing to prepare your guacamole on top of that. That's my little trick that she taught me, and ever since, I've never made guac any other way.

I just started working out this year! It's because I was motivated by my friends [fellow YouTube stars] Grace Helbig and Mamrie Hart. We travel a lot, we go on tour together, and in December, we had just finished filming a movie—Dirty Thirty, I'm very excited about that coming out—and Mamrie was kind of going through this personal revolution, as one does when they're in their early thirties, and Grace has always gone to the gym every time we arrive at a hotel. I thought to myself, "God, they seem so much more energized than I am right now. Maybe I should finally start also exercising." And I have to tell you, it's awesome. I was a big walker before. I really believe that you should do 30 minutes of motion everyday, and for me that came in the form of walking.

You can start as slowly and simply as you want. You can go to the gym and walk for 10 minutes and leave, and good job, dude.

[At the gym], I'm not doing anything crazy. I just go on the elliptical. If I can get on the elliptical for 20 or 30 minutes, I call that a good day. If I'm having an actual session and I have an hour, I'll do the elliptical to warm up, and then I'll just do some basic weight training, then I'll pat myself on the back and leave!

I wish we could give the whole big world a hug, and say, "You can start as slowly and simply as you want. You can go to the gym and walk for 10 minutes and leave, and good job, dude." It's about building a pattern, and you can build a pattern once you set a foundation.

I think a misconception that we have is that cooking takes more time than it does. It's not like we can all go home and be like, "I made a lamb roast!" But if you're a busy person, you can make pasta in, like, 10 minutes. Angel hair can boil in four to five minutes. 

We have this idea that pasta is not good for you, but it's just about how and when you eat it.

For dinner, I had cacio e pepe, which is basically like a fancy version of macaroni and cheese with fresh aromatic herbs. You can add a little tomato, you can add whatever vegetables you have on hand in the kitchen, cut them up, and put them in. You get that deeply satisfying feeling, you know what I'm talking about, when you take a bite of great, well-cooked pasta? You just get that yum feeling. We have this idea that pasta is not good for you, but it's just about how and when you eat it.
