If Kylie Lip Kits had levels, Candy K (a matte latte color) would be beginner, Mary Jo K (candy apple red) would be intermediate, and Skylie, a new limited edition shade, would be advanced. An opaque Carolina blue, Skylie is the most attention-seeking Lip Kit yet—perfect for Snapchat, where it belongs—no matter how you wear it.

Skylie sold out last Friday, but we got our hands on a sample of the $29 kit. Here, ELLE.com editors take the Skylie Lip Kit challenge to see how Kylie's most extreme shade works IRL.

"Skylie makes me feel like a Snapchat filter in the best way possible. The diamond-emoji-colored Lip Kit makes my teeth look super white, brightens my eyes, and best of all wards off any squares who can't handle an extreme beauty look. Hate it or love it shade-wise, Kylie's liner and liquid lipstick duos wear incredibly well. So well that you'll forget you're wearing blue pigment on your mouth until someone smirks at you, or shouts simply—'Blue!'"

"While I would never, ever wear this color in my day-to-day life—it's a little much with my haircut; I prefer to stick to classic reds or berries—I love the way it went on. Nice and smooth and didn't dry out my lips too much! I'm impressed with the formula and would recommend it to everyone."

"This particular color made me think of all things unnatural. First, because it was on my lips, I thought of food—like cotton candy, the blue kind, of course—and blue heaven milk shakes. Because of the vanilla smell of the Lip Kit, I also thought of birthday cake, which is pretty nice. Happy food! But definitely not food that comes from a tree. The other thing this color reminded me of is Smurfs. I felt like I had kissed a Smurf, or someone from the Blue Man Group. I wasn't mad about it."

"Instantly I think, Smurf-tastic! The blue is almost complementary to my skin tone. Key word, almost. I am pretty sure this color falls in some danger zone on the color wheel, primarily because of the yellow undertones in my skin. It does wear well, and it's totally a color that I would applaud if I saw someone else wearing. Someone younger, cooler and more fun (Kylie?)."

"First, I was VERY pleasantly surprised by how much better they've gotten. Skylie didn't dry my lips out like the earlier ones did (my Mary Jo K one I got in February was notorious for it). The electric blue was a LOT, though. Like, I looked in a mirror and thought I was a cartoon. It's a fun color. I don't think it suits me or my whole red-lip-classic-thing-that-you-like vibe. I don't know where I'd ever wear it. But hey, it's certainly fun to play around in for a couple minutes."
