Ah, Halloween. The most creative holiday of the year offers some of the industry's top makeup artists the chance to show off their masterful cosmetic ways. These days, your Halloween costume is only as good as your makeup, so these YouTube beauty vloggers are heaven-sent. In honor of Halloween, we're turning to these makeup mavens for dress-up and make-up inspiration.

1. DAENERYS TARGARYEN

Who hasn't fantasized about looking like the flawless Khaleesi, Daenerys Targaryen? Beauty vlogger Miranda Hedman nails the look in this perfect-for-Halloween makeup tutorial. Key elements of the look? Smooth skin (thanks to a full-coverage foundation), full brows, and a matte, rosy-nude lip.

2. BELLE

Some of us like to look beastly on Halloween, while others just want to look beautiful. Here, you'll get the basics on looking like Belle from Beauty and the Beast from makeup pro Promise Phan. Wide, doe-like eyes are a Belle signature, so false lashes and lots of brown eye makeup will be your BFFs for this costume.

3. WONDER WOMAN

Are you still feeling the girl power after seeing Wonder Woman? Vlogger Victoria Lyn shares her tutorial on the Gal Godot-era superhero look. There's nothing too out-there involved in this makeup, but think strong when it comes to your lips and brows. We recommend two lip options: A nude for those who prefer a more modern take, or a classic red for the old-school Wonder Woman look.

4. ZOMBIE

If you'll be joining the ranks of #teamundead come Halloween night, Tess Christine covers the bases of the just-barely-living in this zombie-inspired makeup tutorial. You'll start with your everyday face makeup as a base, and then layer red, brown, gray, and black eyeshadows all over and under your eyelids and along the sides of your nose for a sunken-in look. Taking a cue from the Kardashian clan, Christine continues by going over the contours of her features, but this time using gray, black, and brown shadows to nail down a skeletal illusion.

To pale her skin, Christine applies a foundation that's a few shades lighter than her own skin tone (though you can also opt for light-colored face makeup from the Halloween store) to the areas of the face you'd normally highlight. She then goes back over the darken contour and eyeshadow to re-establish their depth. A basic zombie look is explained in under four minutes, but if you're going for the full zombie effect, complete with open wounds and drips of blood, keep watching.

5. FRANKENSTEIN

We were thoroughly impressed with Kaitlin's ability to make a detailed video so incredibly comprehensive without saying a word. Also, take note that the actual tutorial is about two minutes long and doesn't leave you guessing in between each step. Adding a touch of femininity to the classic monstrosity with a swipe of dark red lipstick, the general look of Kaitlin's interpretation is one everyone can pull off.

Start off by covering your face and neck in white face paint before outlining the contours of your forehead, nose, neck, and cheekbones with different shades of green eyeshadow. The focal point of the features will ultimately be your eyes, which you'll coat in dark purple and black, but drawing stitches along your forehead, down your face, and along your throat ultimately tie the look together.

6. DOLL

youtubeView full post on Youtube

OK, so doll costumes can go either way for Halloween. You could easily pass as a porcelain doll, with glowing skin, gorgeous bright eyes, and hair tied in a bow, or go straight Chucky Bride on the world with crazy hair and bloodshot eyes. Ingrid Nilsen's tutorial falls somewhere in the middle: We're getting the wholesome, sweet cheeks, and heart-lip, while our skin will have a porcelain-like appearance and drawn-in eyelashes that look a bit severe. It's an open playing field, so use this simple tutorial as a starting point if you'd like.

7. VAMPIRE

Tina Yong's take on vampire makeup is spooky and seductive — aka way more original than a pale face wearing distressed jeans and a worn-out hoodie that Bella Swan enthusiasts have been sporting since the Twilight film saga's release in 2008. Face it, friends, lovestruck wannabes are tired, but this badass mythical creature is a timeless trend, especially come Halloween. The trick is to look as far from lively as humanly possible.

Yong uses a foundation a shade lighter than her everyday staple to achieve this, accentuating the contours of her face with a dark powder, similarly to how Tess Christine would in her zombie tutorial, only on a lesser scale. The vampire maiden zeros in on her eyes to make a frightful statement, complete with a bloodshot motif mixed with black smudged liner, plus drawn-in veins trickling down the cheekbone.

8. WITCH

Witch makeup has significantly evolved from the stereotypical green-face-meets-gigantic-nose-and-mole motif. Kate's whipping up a bit of hocus-pocus in her vampy-glam tutorial that proves plum and other shades of purple can be totally bewitching. Starting with an everyday look, the key to wearing a witch's face is to sharpen your features — think dark, arched eyebrows, smoky eyes, and a bold lip. We'd rank this particular tutorial as the easiest among the ones listed above, as you most likely own every product necessary to complete the look already.

9. DEER

The doe — yes a deer, a female deer to be exact — has become, to our surprise, a popular costume as of late. The wide-eyed animal is depicted as enchanting, yet sexy, with a focus on enhanced, defined eyes and warm brown tones that can easily be translated as cute or seductive. Despite the fact that Promise Tamang, aka dope2111, recorded this video to get herself in the Christmas spirit, it's definitely relevant for Halloween inspo as well.

10. MERMAID

Can we please take a second to bow down to Bodmon Zaid's insane beauty hack here? Sure, we could get fancy and draw in each and every fish scale, and if you have the diligence to do so, we salute you. However, for those of us whose artistic skill set stops at even-winged eyeliner, wearing fishnet stockings over your face is just pure genius. To channel your inner underwater goddess, aqua and purple hues will get you there.
