1

XXL Long Hair

From the Kardashians' ultra-long, pin-straight lengths to Beyoncé's magical waist-grazing braided ponytail, it's going to be all long-hair-don't-care in 2017. For more inspo, look no further than celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton who has helped pioneer the look on his clients like Kim, Jennifer Lopez, and Ariana Grande.

Glitter Lips

Last year, Pat McGrath introduced the fashion industry and the masses alike to glitter-dusted lips—and the look will still be fresh as hell in 2017. As conceptual of a lewk as it is, all you need to do is swipe on gloss over your lip color and pat on glitter with your ring finger. Plus, it's a lot more wearable than you think.

3

Underliner

Underliner is equal parts wearable and subversive AKA just the kind of beauty risk you want to aim for in the new year. Try slashes of bright liner under the lower lash line or an upside down cat eye painted on with glitter liner.

Blurred Lips

Picture-perfect liquid matte lips had their moment, but now it's time to give your hand-eye coordination a break. Enter: The blurred lip. You can embrace imperfection by diffusing edges and adding more color to the center of the lips with your fingertips. It's very laissez-faire.

5

Glossed Everything

Glossy lids are still going strong, but the eyes aren't the only part of your face that could benefit from a boost in shine. From lip gloss' much-needed comeback to MAKE's Face Gloss, a clear, non-sticky formula that will give your cheekbones or collarbones some youthful sheen, it's time to get glossy with it all over.

6

Wave Formation

At this point, cool-girl waves are a classic and while flat irons have been the go-to tool for the look, that's about to change in a big way. With the "wave formation" technique, L.A. hairstylist Anh Co Tran yields a cross between an S-wave and beachy bends by using a 1.5-inch curling iron. He clamps the iron up and down each section, alternating the direction as he keeps moving down to the ends for effortless-looking bends.

Microblading

Perhaps the best thing to happen to brows since Cara Delevingne, the microblading technique uses a small hand tool with micro-needles to deposit pigment underneath the first layer of skin so your brows are filled in 24/7. Costing anywhere between $700 and $1,200 for a treatment, it's not cheap, but lasts up to two years.

8

Glitter Strobing

Take your highlight to the next level with a shimmery strobe. MAC senior artist Regan Rabanal creates this look by applying a strobing cream, highlighting powder, and finally a few fine glitters for extra impact. We love it on the half-halo of the face.

9

Body Makeup

Whether its glitter contouring on the collarbones or monochrome paint on the lobes as seen here at Proenza Schouler Spring 2017, it's time to get creative with new makeup canvases. The next body part of choice? The nape, we're calling it.

Blorange Hair Color

The perfect pastel for winter and beyond, blorange (blonde + orange) is our new favorite washed-out dye job. But be forewarned, orange pigments can be the toughest to get out. You've got to commit.
