Chrissy Teigen is a hero in more ways than we can count. She shuts down alt-right trolls, claps back at body shamers, gets candid about postpartum depression, posts pictures of her stretch marks, and makes us feel 100% okay about our perpetual craving for fried chicken wings. But while we're seasoned in Teigen's refreshing frankness, her latest revelation is a *big* one.
In a new interview with Byrdie, Teigen admits to extensive plastic surgery. (Editor's note: In a series of tweets posted after the interview went live, she now says she was joking.) And while cosmetic procedures are nothing out of the ordinary for Hollywood, sometimes we forget that supermodels like Teigen even have insecurities in the first place—let alone act on them.
RELATED STORY
"Everything about me is fake except my cheeks," she tells Byrdie with a laugh, pointing to her forehead, nose, and lips. "Fake, fake, fake."
With her signature brand of humor, she goes on to explain that she isn't shy about talking about her plastic surgery and has zero regrets.
"I had my armpit sucked out," she says, clarifying that she didn't consider it a necessary procedure, but one that would give her more confidence. "It added two inches of length to my arms."
While there's more transparency about plastic surgery than ever before, there's a certain solace that comes from celebrities opening up about their elective procedures. So as per usual, we applaud Teigen for having our backs with her honesty and directness.
