There are a few reasons dark circles appear along our lower lids, so while we can absolutely attribute the occasional shadow to long work days that turned into late — possibly boozy — nights, there may be other factors to consider if it becomes a recurring concern.
Dark circles are dilated blood vessels underneath the eye area, and can form as a result of sleep deprivation, alcohol, allergies, aging, or genetics. To reduce these dark marks, the first step would be to address probable cause.
