If NYFW Fall 2018 proved anything, it's that simple doesn't need to be boring. Bold, dramatic hair is dominant again this season and the '80s don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Runways were peppered with everything from bright, gravity-defying wigs at VFiles to polished, to slicked-back buns at Tom Ford and tousled locs at Nicole Miller and more. Ahead, see all the best hair trends we spotted backstage at the Spring 2019 runway shows.
Gucci
The vibe: 80s party
Get the look: Gucci's spring 2019 show was ripe with nostalgic references, from a tribute to the legendary Dolly Parton to the show's actual setting, the Théâtre Le Palace. Blunt cuts, shaggy bangs, and mullets of that era returned to the runway, this time with a modern twist.
Fila
The vibe: Sporty cool
Get the look: When you're working out or running errands, the last thing you want to worry about is your hair--and Fila knows this. That's why for the brand's first runway show, headbands, bucket hats, and caps were placed on each model's head to complement Fila's new classic, sporty looks.
Moschino
The vibe: 80's vintage
Get the look: Moschino recruited Paul Hanlon to give each model a tight low-bun using a Dyson hair dryer to blow out the hair. Each model's look was accessorized with a fancy hat, including wide-brimmed and thimble hats.
