At Dedivanovic's Masterlcass today in Downtown LA, the famed makeup artist revealed onstage a new moisturizer iteration of the face mist he loves: the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. Imagine all the botanical oils and humectants from the mist, now in a cream that you layer on before you even think about foundation, highlighter, and powder.
The concept of ultra-dewy skin sounds great, until you think about applying all sorts of cream and powder makeup on top. Is there such a thing as too much dew? "Using an emollient creme as a base for makeup is key for allowing a smoother application," Dedivanovic told BAZAAR.com. "It also helps with the texture of powder, making it appear more natural. What’s great about the new cream is that it can be used on all skin types and paired with any foundations."
Dedivanovic recommends treating the cream just like any other—don't be scared of the glow-factor. "I love to apply the cream all over the face and along with the neck," he says. "If I am giving my client a dewy finish then I will pair both the cream and the mist together regardless of skin type." At his Masterclass, the makeup artist used Tatcha’s Silk Canvas primer on Kardashian West first, then dabbed on the new Dewy Skin Cream.
The new cream is best for drier skin types—or anyone prone to dryness in the winter (Kardashian West, for the record, says she has dry skin). If your skin is oily, you might find the cream a little too emollient and the finish overly luminous. In that case, stick to a few spritzes of the spray on top of your favorite mattifying foundation and powder, or choose the Tatcha Water Cream formula instead.
