Tanno built and entire room in her Los Angeles home dedicated to glam. Designed by

Linda Koopersmith of Beverly Hills Organizer, the room features clear storage drawer from The Container Store and a vanity from Impressions Vanity. There's also a work desk that serves as Tanno's playground for Haus Labs. It's where she plans looks for Gaga and gives final approval on samples of new products for the brand.

Tanno won an Emmy in 2016 for her work with Gaga on American Horror Story, where she created over 60-plus unique looks in one season of television. She meticulously tracked each look in a continuity book, which she shows off in the video above.

Working with a superstar like Lady Gaga isn't like working with other celebrities. There's red carpet makeup, of course, but also television and film makeup, stage makeup, and Super Bowl stadium makeup.

It was backstage during Gaga's jazz tour that Tanno was presented with a unique challenge: quick-change makeup. "She would be back there for maybe a minute, minute and a half tops changing, getting a wig change, getting touched up by me, drinking, maybe breathing if she has time. She wanted to quick change her makeup but I couldn't do it," Tanno recalls. "Getting in there with a liquid eyeliner, like I am going to poke her in the eye. It's not going to look attractive, it will look all wonky." Tanno's solution was to create makeup stickers with Phyllis Cohen of Face Lace. That's also the reason there are two stickers—a four-piece mask and a cat-eye wing—currently in the Haus Labs line (with more to come).

Headshot of Jenna Rosenstein
Jenna Rosenstein
Beauty Director

Jenna Rosenstein is the Beauty Director at Harper's BAZAAR across both print and digital. While attending NYU, she held internships at Women’s Wear Daily, Bloomingdale’s, Harper’s BAZAAR, and Allure, the latter of which she parlayed into her first job as the Beauty Assistant. She left Allure three years later as the Senior Beauty Editor. She spent a few months at Refinery29 overseeing branded content in the same title, before finally landing back at BAZAAR to manage all beauty content. When she's not testing every lipstick known to mankind, getting zapped by new lasers, or interviewing experts and celebrities, you can find Rosenstein at home in New Jersey with her son, husband, and black cat named Maddie.
