Tracee Ellis Ross made waves in the beauty world last year when she launched Pattern, a line of haircare products that celebrate Black hair textures and routines. The first launch included top-rated shampoos, conditioners, hair oils, serums, and a few key accessories—but why stop at wash day? Tomorrow, Ross is debuting the long-awaited phase two of Pattern, with 15+ new styling products and tools to help beautifully shape and boost curls.

"It’s always been the plan to bring styling products to Pattern. Curlies, coilies, and tight textures know our hair, the types of products that work for us, and what we want. We’ve been listening, and it’s been great incorporating feedback into the development of these new products," Ross said in a brand statement. "I’m super proud of how the brand and our community have come together as we continue to fulfill the beauty needs of the natural hair community."

Tomorrow's Style Your Pattern drop includes a hydrating mist, curl gel, styling cream, strong hold gel, and edge control styler, as well as essentials like an edge tool, hair pick, and comb. There are also two new product kits and new sizes for the shower line.

Phase two of Pattern is launching on Juneteenth (June 19), the day that honors the abolition of slavery in the United States. The timing for the launch—given the Black Lives Matter movement—was vital. "As we continue to protest and gather and strategize and hold those in power accountable and reimagine our future and vote, I am reminded that celebrating Black beauty is a part of this revolution," Ross said in a powerful Instagram video. "And I’m reminded of the urgency that propelled me to persist for 10 years to create Pattern."

While the beauty industry's spotlight is (finally, rightfully) on Black-owned brands, Ross notes that Pattern's core mission has always been about celebrating Black beauty. "I am reminded of the importance of being a Black-owned business and of why Pattern has been centered around the beauty of blackness from the start. I’m reminded of the importance of being an active space where we can see ourselves. And our humanity. And our joy. And our glory. And our softness. And our strength," she said.

Pattern beauty's stylers and tools will launch on patternbeauty.com tomorrow and at Ulta stores and online on June 28.
