I have always strictly been a wash-and-go type when it comes to my hair—I don't even own a blowdryer. So it's somewhat ironic that I recently decided to get bangs, which are far from low-maintenance. I've since fallen into the rhythm of getting them just right, but there are still those days when my fringe gets greasy, frizzy, or just plain annoying. With this in mind, I asked model-loved hairstylist Annastasia Konidaris of NYC's Wonderland Beauty Parlor to dream up some styles for those occasions when you really wish your bangs didn't exist. Here, she lays out five 'dos that are so cute, you might forget you had a fringe altogether.
Center Part Twists
For those with minimal time (and/or motivation) on their hands, this quickie hairstyle can't be beat. Customize it with embellished bobby pins, gem-inlaid clips, or a throwback barrette. (Remember these?)
What you need:
Bobby pins
Embellished clips or pins of choice

Step 1
Begin by dividing your fringe down the middle.

Gather the fringe and and a small section of longer hair behind the fringe line.

Twist both sections together, and secure with a bobby pin.

Embellished Side-Sweep
Ladies who rock weaves or wigs, take note! This is a great (not to mention gorgeous) way to get those bangs temporarily out of your eyes, even for a stubborn fringe that's meant to stay put.
What you need:
Bobby pins
Fine tooth comb or boar bristle brush
Embellished barrettes or clips

Begin by choosing the direction you would like your hair to flow. Make a diagonal part, beginning from the outer edge of your fringe, toward the middle of your head.

Using a fine tooth comb (or a flat boar bristle brush) gently comb the hair across the forehead covering the fringe.

Once smooth, secure with a few bobby pins.

Good news! The cool girl 'do of the moment works very well for getting your bangs out of your eyes. Annastasia recommends choosing spin pins over hair elastics for a more seamless-looking (but equally sturdy) top-knot.

Begin by sectioning the hair as if you were wearing it half up. Gather the hair as if you were prepping for a ponytail (it's okay if it's not centered).

Twist the hair starting at the root.

The section will naturally start to form a circle/bun shape as the twisting continues.

Loosely wrap the hair around and around to form a cute little bun. (This look should be messy! Don't worry about any stray hairs.)

Secure by using a spiral pin or two. To finish the look, gently pull out a few pieces of hair around the ears and temples.

Sometimes the issue isn't that your bangs are in your face, but the halo of frizz around your crown. Annastasia recommends this Coachella-ready style to keep things in place on humid days. (It's also great for the days you don't have time to properly blow out your fringe.)
