How do "cool girls going to a music festival" wear winged liner? According to makeup guru Gucci Westman, they don't overthink it. Case in point: Backstage at Stella McCartney's resort presentation, Westman created five different variations on the cat eye, giving each girl a different look depending on eye shape and you know, mood. Models off-duty are almost universally makeup free, but Dani, Lily, Pooja, and Isabella (above) all agreed they would wear Westman's relaxed eye look in real life. And so would we. Here, Westman's three easy "no rules" rules for winged liner, or whatever.

Layer liners: "I'm using this Japanese Makoto Kamata and a Chanel liquid. Just to define the shape and make it blacker. I start from the middle and have [the models] look down the way I'm going, then I do little small darts. It's like handwriting, you do it in your way. No rules."

Skip mascara: "Because it's kind of cool. These girls don't need mascara. I'm not married to mascara. It's not a necessity. It feels effortless [without it]. That's part of Stella's message: super natural with a little edge."

Clean it up: "Pointy Q-tips are your friend [Westman loves Eye Tees; I buy them in bulk. They finesse the shape, dipped in Lancôme makeup remover."
