1. Line your lash line with black gel eyeliner and work the liner in between your lashes. After you've applied your base makeup, blush, and a few individual false eyelash clusters to create a fuller fringe, use your pinky finger to anchor and steady your hand as you line your eye with black gel liner. Model Imena used Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in "Blackest Black." As you apply it, work the brush in between your lashes, so it creates an even fuller-looking fringe.

2. Swipe on layers of mascara, tilting the brush sideways to muss up your lashes. Holding your mascara wand horizontal to your lash line, gently and quickly wiggle the wand back and forth from roots to ends. Then tilt the brush sideways to give your lashes that intertwined, mussed look. Lastly, holding the wand vertically, coat your lower lashes. Imena used Maybelline New York Chaotic Lash Mascara in "Black."

3. Use a neutral liner to make your lashes stand out. Swiping on a neutral liner in your waterline will make your lashes pop even more, framing your lashes.

Finally, coat your lips with a nude-pink lipstick, like Maybelline New York Color Sensational The Buffs in "Nude Lust" and get ready to bat those badass lashes.

Carly Cardellino was the beauty director at Cosmopolitan. If you follow her Instagram, then you know she'll try just about any beauty trend or treatment once (the pics of her purple hair are on IG to prove it). But her favorite part about being in beauty is finding the most effective products, and then sharing that intel with others—because who wants to spend money on stuff that doesn't work? No one, that's who. Her most recent discovery: De La Cruz Sulfur Ointment, which will change your blemish-clearing game! Hopefully through the beauty stories she writes—and the experiences she shares—you can see exactly why she's in this business.
