If you're rolling your eyes at the thought of swiping on yet another smoky eye before going out with your girls, makeup artist Lauren Cosenza is about to show you how to spice up your look in a major way. Her suggestion: Give your eyelids the Midas touch by patting some bronze and gold shadow in the center, and coating on mascara for a sexy, yet messy finish.

1. Neutralize any redness on your eyelids with foundation. After you've applied your base makeup, blush, and a few individual lash clusters to create a fuller fringe, apply a lighter-colored foundation over your eyelid to neutralize any redness and provide a long-wearing base for your multi-tonal smoky eye. Model Imena used Maybelline New York Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation in "Medium Buff."

2. Create the smoky effect with black shadow. Using your finger, pat on a black cream shadow in the center of your eyelid, diffusing from the lash line up to the crease of your eye. Maybelline New York Eye Studio 24 HR Leather Color Tattoo in "Dramatic Black."

3. Add a golden bronze shadow into the mix, focusing it at the center of the black eye shadow. With a dome-tipped brush, lay down a golden bronze shadow in the center only and blend it slightly out toward the inner and outer corners of your eye. Imena used the bronze-gold shade in the Maybelline New York The Nudes Palette.

4. Swipe a clear lip balm over your brow bone to add a soft sheen. Maybelline New York Baby Lips Crystal in "Crystal Kiss" has subtle crystal particles in it that amp up this effect even more.

5. Muss up your lashes. Holding your mascara wand horizontal to your lash line, gently and quickly wiggle the wand back and forth from roots to ends. Add several coats to give them that intertwined, I-woke-up-like-this-effect. Imena used Maybelline New York Chaotic Lash Mascara in "Black."

6. Separate your lower lashes. Using the same mascara, dip the wand back into the formula to add more onto the brush, and then, holding the wand vertically, "paint" the lashes from roots to ends to coat them fully. You can even push them back and forth so they stick together, creating a clumpy effect, which is on trend now.

Finally, coat your lips with a sheer berry gloss, like Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Gloss in "Hooked in Pink," and get ready to bat those lush lashes.

No one, that's who. Her most recent discovery: De La Cruz Sulfur Ointment, which will change your blemish-clearing game! Hopefully through the beauty stories she writes—and the experiences she shares—you can see exactly why she's in this business.
